I-95 North

1. To exit 55
   2. Take right at bottom of exit ramp.
2. At the second light take left onto Route 139.
3. Go North on 139 appx. ½ mile and look for a sign along the right side of the road reading "Flax Mill Soccer Field". You'll also see sign for Vosburgh Storage.
4. Take a left at the sign.
5. Follow the road around to the right as you go through an industrial park area. As you get to the back of the industrial park and the road turns to dirt, you will abruptly turn left into the woods. DO NOT GO STRAIGHT, which is a rutted dirt road heading up an incline. Take the sharp left (you'll go by a swinging metal fence) and wind through the woods to Flax Mill Field.

3. Travel just two-tenths of a mile, road bends to the left. Slow down. Immediately afterward you will see Patty's Park on your left, just behind Murphy School and just before new construction in a subdivision.
4. If you've gone much beyond two- or three-tenths of a mile on Parish Farm, you've probably passed it.

Turn left at next light onto Rte 68 and continue 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Maple Hill Road and travel 1.4 miles (you will go through one STOP sign) to the entrance to Maple Hill School on the right. The path to the field is on the back side of the parking lot on the left.

… You will be travelling alongside the Housatonic River into Stratford. Follow Rte 110 south 2.1 miles to the traffic light at the intersection of Rte 110 and Rte 113. Go straight at this traffic light onto Rte 113, which is Main Street, and stay on Rte 113 / Main Street for 4.3 miles through the center of Stratford, crossing over Barnum Ave (Rte 1), going past the Stratford RR Station, all the way down to and past Sikorsky Airport. Just after the Airport Runway, go left onto Dorne Drive, up to stop sign; go straight and into the Short Beach Complex. The soccer field and Parking for the field is on your right just as you enter into the Complex. If an attendant is on duty, please tell them you are here for a Travel Soccer game.

FROM I-95:

From 95 Southbound - Take Exit 31, South Ave., go left at the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp to South Ave., under the 95 overpass, past the Comfort Inn and proceed ½ mile ahead to the Main Street traffic light. Go right on Main Street / Rte 113 for 1.7 miles, past Sikorsky Airport. Just after the Airport Runway, go left onto Dorne Drive, up to stop sign; go straight and into the Short Beach Complex. Directions to the Peterson Soccer Fields and Veterans Memorial Park (91 Bull Hill Lane, West Haven, CT 06516)
PARKING - while there is limited parking for Veterans Field, there is parking for both fields at Peterson Field. Veterans has parking in the lots and along the entrance road to the field and in the Park Maintenance garage area (there is a sign indicating that it is for park maintenance use only but we do have permission to park there for the tournament). Additionally ON SATURDAY ONLY - parking will be allowed in the St Louis Church lot (to the east of the field) and at the back of the lot of the Gateway Christian Fellowship Church (at the light to the west of the fields). The two churches have made these lots available to us on Saturday only with the understanding that we would honor their request of NO PARKING IN THE CHURCH LOTS ON SUNDAY. There will be police and public service officers to assist pedestrians in crossing the street from the Peterson fields parking lot on Sunday. Thank you for your cooperation!!

Using I-95

From the New York direction: Get off at Exit 18 - Westport / Sherwood Island. Turn left at the stop sign at the end of the ramp onto the Sherwood Island Connector, heading north. Follow the Connector until it ends at a T-intersection with the Post Road (Route 1), this will be at the second light. Turn left onto the Post Road. Almost immediately (just after Bertucci's restaurant), take a right onto Long Lots Road. Follow until first stop sign. Turn left onto North Avenue and continue north (you'll pass Staples High School on the right) to the first stop sign. Make a right onto Cross Highway. Entrance to Wakeman Park is about 1/4 mile from the stop sign, on the right.

From the New Haven direction: Get off at Exit 18 - Westport / Sherwood Island. Keep bearing right until the exit ramp merges with the Sherwood Island Connector, heading north. Follow the Connector until it ends at a T-intersection with the Post Road (Route 1), this will be at the second light. Turn left onto the Post Road. Using the Merritt Parkway (Route 15)

From the New York direction: Get off at Exit 42 - Westport. At the light at the end of the ramp make a left onto Weston Road, heading south. The road forks almost immediately. This is a strange intersection. Do NOT bear right, slow down and look to move left towards the stop sign. You may have to sort of "alternate" with oncoming cars. At the stop sign (four-way) go straight, continuing on Weston Road. Continue on Weston Road until it ends in a T-intersection with Cross Highway. Make a left at the stop sign onto Cross Highway. Go straight at the next stop sign, continuing on Cross Highway. The entrance to Wakeman Park is on the right about 1/4 mile from the stop sign.

From the New Haven direction: Get off at Exit 42 - Westport. At the light at the end of the ramp turn right onto Weston Road, heading south. You'll pass under the Merritt.
